When Charles David first brought European shoes to the American market in  1987 as a wholesale distributor, the impact on the fashion world was  immediate: The company was quickly  recognized as a leader in women’s  footwear. Just a year later, the first Charles David retail store opened on  Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, and became an instant hot-spot for  fashion-conscious, trend-setting clientele.  With astounding success and  growth every since, Charles David today is a global company with three  internationally recognized footwear lines, expansion into the Hong Kong,  Singapore and London and 26 retail stores in the U.S. Charles David has also  developed a powerful wholesale division, selling the lines to all major  department stores and specialty stores throughout America.
