TRACY REESE

Far from the city that never sleeps, there once lived a girl who dreamed in bright colors and fanciful shapes.  Her name was Tracy Reese.

As a small child, Tracy and her mother would sit together, side by side on sewing machines and make beautiful things, getting lost in the bliss of creation.  Her lady-like grandmother served as Tracy’s first fashion icon.  The Reese family loved to dress up, dress well.  Tracy’s family encouraged her creativity and would continue to do so throughout her career.  Tracy attended design classes and flirted with a career in architecture.  Honing her skills by thoroughly constructing her garments from scratch-sketching, cutting and sewing each item herself, she decided she would try her hand at fashion design.  Tracy moved from her hometown of Detroit, Michigan to Manhattan where she attended Parson’s School of Design.

Following her graduation, Tracy worked as a designer at a small contemporary firm Arlequin, designed by Martine Sitbon, and with designer Perry Ellis, among others.  Years later, still passionate about creating a line that reflected her own vision, Tracy launched her namesake label, Tracy Reese.  Two years later she introduced her second line, Plenty by Tracy Reese.

In the ten years since the debut of Tracy Reese, the label has come to epitomize “feminine chic”.  Each collection presents perfect pieces for the modern woman who simply loves to be a girl.  Inspired by her exploration of flea markets and travels throughout Europe.  Tracy continually reveals timeless, wearable looks that pull from vintage and bohemian influences.  Often using eccentric color combinations, lush fabrics and embellishment, the designs enhance and celebrate the female form.

Recently, Tracy ventured into Home design, accessories and most triumphantly, opened her first Flagship Boutique in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District of 641 Hudson Street in spring 2006.  The 2200 square-foot space is a global showcase to display the Tracy Reese and plenty by Tracy Reese fashion and brand new Home and accessories collections.

Featured in prominent high-fashion publications such as Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar as well as on the cover of Lucky, both Tracy Reese and Plenty by Tracy Reese have become fashion favorites amongst industry insiders, celebrities and fashionistas alike.

Tracy Reese and Plenty by Tracy Reese are sold at the Flagship Boutique in New York City, nationwide to top department stores and specialty boutiques including Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman, Ron Herman and Scoop.  She is also sold at select retailers throughout Europe and Asia.
